TGIF; Thankful Friday #314

TGIF and Happy Thankful Friday! This week I am thankful for the weather. It's a beautiful Spring week with temps in the mid to high 70's. Hubby put up a new canopy in the backyard; the plants are blooming and we're spending more time outside.

We spread some wildflower seeds in a planter box so hopefully they start to grow since so far none of the seeds that I planted are growing - with the exception of the cilantro. I'm very excited and thankful that they are sprouting because my son always told me to plant some. He said they were easy to grow AND of course, we'd use them.

The giant pumpkin plant is still alive and there are blossoms on it. Crossing my fingers that we get one for Halloween. I don't think it's getting enough sun, but we'll see.

How about you? What are you thankful for this week? Let me know in the comments!

Toucan Cap; PCC Project

This is probably one of my favorite projects I’ve made this year! I used the Tropical Toucan E4562 cut file from Printable Cuttable Creatables for the emblem/patch and the baseball cap/gift box was downloaded from the Jennifer Maker website.

Once all the pieces for the toucan were cut, I layered them before adding adhesive. I like to do this to avoid putting adhesive on the wrong side and to know where to place the pieces. This is especially helpful when there are tiny pieces.

I used liquid glue with a fine tip to get to those small pieces! Once the cap was assembled and the toucan, I used dimensional adhesive and more liquid adhesive to attach it to the cap front.

Some close ups and different angles:

Be sure to go to the PCC blog for lots of inspiration and to the website for amazing cut files!  Use 3SONS15 for 15% off your purchase.

You Had Me At

This is a pink on pink on pink card and I love it! What a great way to recognize your bestie than giving her a Lucy & Ethyl inspired card! I stamped & colored the images with alcohol markers and added some white gel pen marks here and there.

I love the idea of them taking a selfie specially since that was definitely not something that someone would have done back then. Can you image, Lucy taking some wacky ones!

This card was created using random stuff on my desk - yes, this is another card from the Card Making Frenzy Series on YouTube. Make sure you check out the video:

TGIF; Thankful Friday #313

My mama's in town. That makes me thankful! We didn't do a whole lot. I'm working so I couldn't take time off but we still go to do some things.

Monday = the eclipse
Tuesday = started our new floors so we went out for dinner
Wednesday = cemetary visit (there was live music there)
Thursday = crafts in the backyard
Friday = drive to the Bay Area to see my nephew & niece

She'll come back in a few days and hopefully I'll be able to take some time off so we can really hang out!

Card Making Frenzy Last Round

So much fun creating these cards and I still have stuff to make plenty more! I decided to stop the Card Making Frenzy series just because I'm ready to either toss or put away those pieces on my desk. I can't believe I made 25 cards just from scraps left on my desk! Here's one of the cards with a really easy fun fold:

If you are ever in a stump, I highly recommend playing around with this idea. I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't put things away!

Be sure to watch the final  YouTube processing video to see three of the cards and a flip through of all the rest of them!

Bubbles Layout

This is one of my favorite things to do when creating a layout without a specific theme. Gather all things pink (in this case) and just layer and layer stickers, die cuts, etc

I went through my die cut embellishments and just had fun with them. This layout used three small photos of my granddaughter using her bubble machine.

Left side and right

I used patterned papers from CTMH and no solid cardstock!

TGIF, Thankful Friday #312

T

his was a short week since we had Monday off and I took today off as well. We're on a road trip to Indio, CA for a family vacation. So, my foot has been hurting all last weekend and through the week so I'm really thankful that it's getting better and better as the new weekend is approaching.

That's what I'm thankful for this week. Healing...

What about you? What are you thankful for this week?
